Where does the PTO money go?
Teachers' educational purchases for the classroom - $4,500 Money we give each grade level at the beginning of the year to help make up for the many cuts to the budget for ACPS
Fine Arts - $2,100 Band, Strings, Chorus and Art
Special programs - $1,700 Our gifted teacher, librarian, nurse, special education program and ESL
Stipends - $1,800 Paying staff members for “extra” jobs we value such as keeping our Burley sign current and monitoring the drop off and pickup procedures
Student Scholarships – up to $3000 This program tends to ebb and flow with the status of our donation drive
Other - $1,900 Includes Parent Council dues, Incorporation fees, Teacher Appreciation Week, End-of-Year Staff Luncheon, 8th Grade Dance
